A posse of young comedy renegades from Montreal, Kidnapper Films live up to the potential displayed in their hilarious online shorts with this wild satire of hipster lifestyles and literary hoaxes. Two twenty-something friends with big ambitions and not much talent decide that the best way to get ahead in their hyper-competitive, terminally cool-conscious scene is to concoct a figure who's got more cred than they could ever have. That fictitious fellow is K.K. Downey, a junkie hustler turned JT Leroy-like literary sensation. But with the scheme's success comes plenty of unforeseen complications, all of which adds up to the freshest Canadian indie comedy since FUBAR.
