This astonishing feature debut from director Mark Wihak shows just how much depth, insight, and beauty filmmakers can achieve on a tiny budget. The story is simple: 20-something aspiring artists Stan (Adam Budd, Best Actor winner, Canadian Film Festival) and Roz (Maya Batten-Young, Best Actress winner, Whistler Film Festival) meet and become fast friends during a lazy summer in a small Canadian city. As they get know each other, they discover the possibilities — and limitations — of their friendship. What makes the film so striking and genuinely moving is the unexpected wealth of deft humour, revealing moments, tender intimacy, and lyrical images.
