Local Shorts

The Local Shorts program is an unparalleled opportunity for Kingston's own arts community to display their talents to a broader public audience. Locally produced short films are screened before each feature attraction, effectively employing a "piggy-back" strategy and guaranteeing a major theatrical audience. Over the past seven years more than 140 area productions have participated in this program and were exhibited before a total combined audience of over 30,000 people.

In addition, the Kingston Canadian Film Festival is pleased to announce the return of the "Local Shorts" award to be presented at this year's festival. The Local Shorts award represents a special partnership with Movieola, The Short Film Channel in which several Local Shorts will be selected to play to a national television audience as part of a KCFF Special to air after the Festival.
