Feature Films

This year’s program will feature a cross-section of the very best in Canadian film including eight Genie®-nominated and two Oscar®-nominated films. The 2008 festival program includes: The Tracey Fragments (6 Genie® nominations including Best Motion Picture), Continental, un film sans fusil (5 Genie® nominations including Best Motion Picture) and the short animated films I Met the Walrus and Madame Tutli-Putli, both nominated for an Academy Award®. The Festival is very pleased to present Roger Spottiswoode’s Shake Hands with the Devil as our FREE Closing Gala screening; the film is nominated for 12 Genie® Awards including Best Motion Picture and Achievement in Direction.

We are also proud to present 2 locally produced feature films as part of our Local Feature Showcase. The Death of Indie Rock is a high-energy look at what happens to a local band when the big city comes calling. And Cabfair exposes the raucous and ridiculous world of Kingston taxi- drivers. You’ll never look at your cabbie the same again.
