MEDIA RELEASE: January 14, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE KINGSTON CANADIAN FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES EIGHTH ANNUAL EVENT Largest all-Canadian film festival announces first six feature films Kingston – The Kingston Canadian Film Festival is pleased to announce preliminary details about its eighth annual event. Presented by The Kingston Whig-Standard and Cogeco the event will be held February 27 to March 2, 2008 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Local filmmakers are encouraged to submit their short films for possible inclusion in the Local Shorts Program. Submission forms are available on the Festival’s redesigned website, www.KingCanFilmFest.com. The Local Shorts Program deadline is February 15, 2008 at 4:00 PM. Building on the success of last year’s event, the Kingston Canadian Film Festival remains the largest all-Canadian festival featuring films from across the country and once again promises a line-up of top Canadian films and filmmakers. The Festival is pleased to announce the first six feature films to be showcased at the 2008 event, they are: Breakfast with Scot (director – Laurie Lynd), Walk All Over Me (director – Robert Cuffley), Shake Hands with the Devil (director – Roger Spottiswoode), The Green Chain (director – Mark Leiren-Young), Up the Yangtze (director – Yung Chang) and Bruce McDonald’s The Tracey Fragments, featuring Ellen Page. The full feature film program will be announced February 11, 2008. Passes will also go on sale February 11, 2008. V.I.P Passes, which provide full access to all of the Festival’s screenings and events, are $70 each or $60 for students or seniors.
