KINGSTON CANADIAN FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FEATURE FILM PROGRAM
Genie and Oscar nominated films headline eighth annual event

Kingston – The Kingston Canadian Film Festival is pleased to announce the official festival
schedule for its eighth annual film festival, February 27 to March 2, 2008. This year’s festival
will showcase numerous acclaimed and award-winning films, including the Opening Gala film
Breakfast with Scot. Full information about this year’s event, including the complete feature
film schedule and ticket information, is available on the Festival’s official website

Presented by The Kingston Whig-Standard and Cogeco, this year’s program will feature a
cross-section of the very best in Canadian film including eight Genie-nominated and two Oscar-
nominated films. The 2008 festival program includes: The Tracey Fragments (6 Genie
nominations including Best Motion Picture), Continental, un film sans fusil (5 Genie
nominations including Best Motion Picture) and the short animated films I Met the Walrus and
Madame Tutli-Putli, both nominated for an Academy Award. The Festival is pleased to present
Roger Spottiswoode’s Shake Hands with the Devil as its free Closing Gala screening; the film
is nominated for 12 Genie Awards including Best Motion Picture and Achievement in Direction.   

All access VIP passes are $70 and include the Opening Gala film and reception. Passes are on
sale now at The Grand Theatre and the Screening Room Movie Theatre.

The Kingston Canadian Film Festival is proudly presented by The Kingston Whig-Standard and
Cogeco. The Festival operates in partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival Group and
receives funding from the Ontario Arts Council, The City of Kingston, the Kingston Arts Council,
Artsvest, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Business for the Arts, The Community Foundation of
Greater Kingston and the George Taylor Richardson Memorial Fund.

The 2008 Kingston Canadian Film Festival will be held February 27 to March 2, 2008.
