Synopsis

Getting through high school is a pretty complicated business even when you’re not convinced that you’re the reincarnation of Leon Trotsky. But nothing can quell the fervour of Leon (Jay Baruchel, KNOCKED UP and REAL TIME, KCFF ‘09), a Montreal teen who’s bent on fomenting a revolution by any means necessary in this spirited and inventive comedy by Jacob Tierney (TWIST). The tireless Leon’s schemes and tirades have already exhausted the patience of his long-suffering father (the great Saul Rubinek) and pitted him against Principal Berkhoff (Colm Feore of BAD COP BON COP), but the real test of his mettle is yet to come. Rising star Baruchel gives his all to create a hero who’s as compelling as he is delusional. Drawing on his own roots in Montreal’s west end, Tierney delivers a delightfully idiosyncratic and proudly Bolshevist spin on the teen movie.
