Synopsis

Since 1998, three Montreal funnymen known as Automatic Vaudeville have been cracking up fans at home and abroad with their crafty comedy shorts. The team of Seth W. Owen, Daniel Perlmutter and Mark Slutsky make their feature debut with this patently absurd yet surprisingly sweet story about a secret subculture of Peeping Toms stalking Montreal’s rooftops. Joe Cobden (I’M NOT THERE, SUDDENLY NAKED) plays the city’s most revered peeper, a man who may not have much respect for other people’s privacy but nevertheless lives by a strict code of conduct. Yet the way of peeping he preserves is endangered by the attentions of Annette Fulvish (Janine Theriault), an ambitious academic. FUBAR’s Paul Spence and Jessica Paré (STARDOM) play two more characters caught up in the film’s universe. And as pervy and peculiar as it may seem, you may also notice that it’s not so different from our own, given the ways that reality TV and the Internet exploit our voyeuristic tendencies.
